Solved Retrieving Manifest - the old, but unfortunately ongoing problem [FIXED]
This aint important no more
Finally it runs, that's how I did it; maybe it will help others:
1. Download the ~15MB TERASetup from the tera mainpage
2. Run the file, close the launcher as soon as it popped up
3. Go to your tera folder
Rightclick > Properties > uncheck 'Read Only' > save. (If you open the properties again, 'Read Only' may still be checked, i have no idea why, but it worked)
4. Download all files until the first error occures, should be the 'Retrieving Manifest' error.
5. Close launcher, check in Task Manager and **** the process
6. Run the TERASetup again, choose the same destination for your installment, wait for the remaining files to finish downloading. Takes about 5minutes, you dont have to download all files again! It should now stop somewhere at 0% Applying Patch | 0.00 kb/s or Download complete, but you won't be able to hit the Start Game button
7. start repair in your launcher, wait for it to finish. Now it should stop at 0% Applying Patch | 0.00 kb/s again, but after a few moments the launcher will override the files, and you can finally log in to your account and start playing.

Hello forumguys, it's me - the guy trying to play tera
After about a year not playing Tera, i decided to re-download and -install the game.
After the first attempt installing it from the game discs, the common error message "Retrieving Manifest" appeared. So i read a few forum posts, tried a few things to fix it, but nothing worked. I uninstalled the whole game, deleted all remaining files and downloaded the "TERASetup"-file from the mainpage:
Before installing, i checked the forum again and came across this post:
hoping that this would help me, i did everything just like he did, and after a few nights of patching (my connection sucks, max speed 128kb/s) without closing the launcher (i paused it several times, but never closed it, never shut down my computer), i again had the error message "Retrieving Manifest", so i closed the launcher, getting into the properties of my tera folder -> unchecking Read-Only and allowing the file to archive. A pop-up came up which told me to wait for the changes to save, and after it was done, i opened the properties again, but the "Read-Only" was still checked. I did this about 10times, everytime it took about 30seconds to save, but always ended up with "Read-Only" still checked. After that i used the repair-tool inside the launcher, and it downloaded a few files, now applaying patch.
But i have the bad feeling it will end up with an error-message, so im posting this to ask you for a solution to my problem, without downloading the whole game again (that **** takes about 5 days with my downloadspeed :p).
I've played a lot of other mmorpgs, sometimes with tiny issues i always managed to fix, but Tera is still my favorite one, unfortunately i'm not able to play due to those problems. I hope you can help me, and i thank you in advance for possible solutions.
My pc specs are:
Windows 7 home premium 64-bit
AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core Processor 3.6 GHz
8.00 GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti - driverversion 335.23
