So, out of curiosity I wanted to see what Steam could do to TERA and moved my files accordingly but once I opened the launcher I was not confronted with the options "log into your existing account" or "bind a new account to your steam library" but instead the game instantly launched. When it finished and I entered the server selection screen I realized it was apparently a new account Steam created.
There is no option to not automatically log into this new account anymore and even a full new installation did nothing towards my problem. I can't start TERA without Steam anymore (not even after said full new installation) and thus can't access my actual account. What the fck, Steam. What the fck. Any solutions to this?
